Reading builds critical thinking and compassion by connecting us to other people’s stories and perspectives. At the Make America Read Book Swap, co-hosted by Make America Read, Women of Cincy, and The Mercantile Library, we’re challenging you to make a real life connection through literature.
Bring a book you want to send into the world. Here’s the fun part: We’ll have post-it notes at the door for you to stick on the book with a short review blurb and your contact info – phone number if you’d like; Twitter handle; MySpace, anyone? – so whoever takes the book home can share their thoughts when they’ve read it. We’re hoping these connections live on long beyond our gathering!
We’ll kick off the evening with a few stories from Women of Cincy interviewees about the power of books. Light refreshments provided.
