Opening Reception - ALIGNED | The Art of Design; a DAAP Faculty, Student, and Alumni exhibition

Join 1628 Ltd. to view their newest exhibition, ALIGNED: The Art of Design

ALIGNED is an exhibition showing a broad scope of work from DAAP Students, Faculty, and Alumni. The exhibition features works by 16 local artists including: Valerie Allen, Geoffrey “Skip” Cullen, Emily Farison, Saad Ghosn, Katherine Gibson, Devon Hensler, Frank Hermann, Heather Jones, Becca Moskowitz, Maxwell Redder, Michael Roller, Emily Schneider, Jonpaul Smith, Andrew Steinbrecher, Claire Talbot, and Evan Verilli.

At 1628, they believe there is no such thing as creating in a vacuum. Art cannot be made without influence by its surroundings, and when you are in an art institution, you are influenced by the work others are creating around you. DAAP is a building dedicated to design thinking, where aesthetics are seen as a solution to creative problems. The art school is housed in a building devoted to design, creating an aesthetic of art unique to its students.

1628’s Winter exhibition highlights this unique mindset and aesthetic quality of DAAP faculty, students, and alumni. ALIGNED showcases works that are design focused; aesthetically and conceptually.

They will be hosting an opening for the show on December 5th from 6-8PM. This is a free ticketed event (Link to Tickets: http://bit.ly/2MEzOMf).
