Reprising her appearance at the closing of The Future Is Female, Cincinnati Violinist Christine Kim will again perform on the balcony overlooking Walnut Street. Christine Kim recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati–College Conservatory of Music with her Masters in Violin Performance, where she studied under the guidance of Timothy Lees. Christine has substituted for the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra and Tyson McLean Orchestra, played with the New Concerto Project Orchestra, was concertmaster with the Project Sacred Spaces Orchestra, and has served as concertmaster in the Hot Springs Music Festival. Christine has been awarded the Opera Fellowship in the Miami Music Festival for two consecutive years. She has a passion for chamber music and has studied a vast range of repertoire. Her coaches have included Yehuda Hanani, Giora Schmidt, the Ariel Quartet, Shanghai Quartet, Horszowski trio, Annie Boyle, Drew Irvin, the Monticello Trio, and many others. Christine has performed in masterclasses for, among others, Charles Castleman and Andrés Cárdenes. She was awarded a full scholarship to perform with Taconic Music Festival in the summer of 2018. She is the co-founder and producer of Duo Kito, which has released their first album, Soulfood.
