Take Back the Night is free to the public and will occur on Thursday, April 11th from 6pm-9pm at Goebel Park. This year’s theme is “We Believe You," which is particularly important with the growing movement of survivors coming forward to share their experiences.
We begin at 6:00pm with music, resource tables, and art supplies for survivors to share their story through our clothesline project (we will also have kids drawing area). We have three speakers including Pamela Pitts, Tim'm West and Gretchen Hunt, who will share how sexual assault has affected our communities, the importance of believing survivors and how we can work together to end sexual violence. In addition to the speakers, there will be musical performances by Toby Christensen, MUSE-Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir, Kyla Mainous, and Kelly Red. Activities will include a march around Covington, on-site counselors and a speak-out for survivors. The event concludes with a candlelight vigil followed by a closing and call to action. This event is open to the Greater Cincinnati Area Community we hope you will come out and help us support Survivors along with their family, friends or allies!!
*Speaking portions of the event will be interpreted into American Sign Language and Spanish
