The Women's Art Gallery located in the YWCA Greater Cincinnati building downtown is honored and proud to host an exhibit showing prized pieces of the Sara M. and Michelle Vance Waddell private gallery collection.
Sara M. Vance Waddell is a collector of art by women and artists of color. A prominent activist and patron of the arts, Vance Waddell has amassed one of the largest collections of women's art in the Midwest, featuring local, national, and international artists. Her work is frequently loaned to institutions around the country.
As an instrumental member of the Modern Women's Fund Committee of the Museum of Modern Art in New York and multiple boards including the Carnegie, the Ohio Citizens for the Arts, Artworks, the Ohio Advisory Group and the National Advisory Board for the National Museum of Women in the Arts in D.C., Sara is committed to the expansion and expression of women artists.
Featured artwork in the "It's A Woman's World" exhibition includes the work of Pat Renick, Holly Schapker, Kandice Odister, Annie Sprinkle, Jenny Ustick, Pam Kravetz, Carolyn Mazloomi, Stacey Vest, Aminah Robinson, Sheida Soleimani, Lorna Simpson, Michele Pred, Denise Burge, Mary Louise Schrodt, Karen Heagle, Stephanie Rond, Claire Talbot, and Ellen Scott.
A selected art piece from the Sara M. and Michelle Vance Waddell gallery collection will be auctioned off to raise funds so that the Women's Art Gallery may continue its efforts to provide gallery exhibit opportunities for emerging and established women artists.
Food and beverages will be served.
