ICYMI: Women of Cincy Happy Hour

Didn’t make it to our Women of Cincy happy hour last week? Here’s what you missed.

Women of Cincy hunkered down at The Listing Loon in Northside last Thursday, April 6 for our inaugural happy hour (coincidentally, the same night as a release party for Women in Rock magazine… #girlpower). We grabbed a couple beers and gathered around a comfy couch to get to know one another and/or catch up before getting down to business. Before we knew it, great conversation and creative energy extended our happy hour into a few hours of happiness.

A major talking point was how to keep the momentum going and get more involved in our Cincinnati community. Partnering with other organizations, looking into the nonprofit sector, visiting the University of Cincinnati’s campus, and working with the chamber of commerce were all suggestions worth noting. Since our mission is to share the stories of women in our city, we hope to use the women we talk to as resources to find even more women and stories to share. If you know of an organization or badass lady we should talk to, drop us a note.

Other takeaways include:

• Social Media: We’ll continue posting a variety of updates, covering both national and local news and events.
• Storytelling: We received positive feedback on our first few stories, so we’ll plan to keep using the Q&A format. Sign up to join our team here.
