Meet Women of Cincy’s Residents for Spring 2022
The Women of Cincy residency isn’t like any other journalism or communications internship; our residents are not nameless fact-checkers – we want them to leave with both professional and personal growth; we want them to go out into the world more confident and capable human beings.
The main drive of the residency is to enable young journalists, writers, and communicators with the skills and experience needed for the professional world. The residents help edit our stories, create social media posts, write articles, and assist in projects, practicing vital grammar and language skills while challenging their creative brains.
But besides grammar and editing and writing, we want these students to develop emotional intelligence. We have weekly meetings to discuss any struggles, questions, or obstacles we might have in our lives. We also take the enneagram personality test and other behavioral assessments to discuss and explore what our results can teach us.

Taylor Houston
Taylor is a junior at the University of Cincinnati studying journalism with a certificate in digital engagement. She hopes to one day be a technical writer for aviation or work in the TV industry. Taylor loves journaling and working with digital technology. When she is not chasing after her education, you can find her hanging out with friends, working out, or painting her nails!
Molly Spitzer
Molly is currently in her fourth year at the University of Cincinnati studying journalism and environmental studies. She loves to explore new activities around the city and enjoys working out in creative ways like rock climbing and triathlon training. After graduation, she would love to take a year to volunteer with AmeriCorps FEMA helping mitigate the impacts of natural disasters on coastal cities.
Yasimean Long
Yasimean is a senior at UC, majoring in journalism with a minor in gender studies. She enjoys spending time with her two-year-old son, Michael – watching him grow and learn is the best thing ever to her. She also loves listening to music – especially Michael Jackson.
